American Brains

I was watching a Louis Theroux documentary on crime in America, and it occurred to me that most Americans are probably quite clever. In most documentaries they seem reasonably clever, are eloquent, and they get involved in politics a lot more than we do. Plus statistically most of them are left wing, which is a good thing in my book. I think the stupidity misconception comes from the one section of society which is ridiculously stupid, the ones known as rednecks and hillbillies who are so monumentally dumb they pull the averages down. And I suppose it doesn’t help that their TV is so inane. The brain is a muscle: it gets bigger if you use it. People become steadily thicker if not mentally challenged by their surroundings, something which their media definitely does not do.
