The Bush Legacy
Many people still feel that George Bush has done a good job overall. Perhaps it’s because he has toned down a lot of his nastier aspects towards the end of his tenure. His popularity amongst his supporters mainly stems from his political theatrics after 9/11, which was nothing more than textbook PR. But I would remind people that as well as starting two wars and ensuring the doom of the entire planet, he has presided over the lead up to and initiation of the worst worldwide economic crisis since the Great Depression. Some would argue that he has done much to safeguard civil rights, which isn’t true. He milked the terrorist attacks for all they were worth to cut back on civil liberties, and persecuted homosexuals by denying them the right to marry the people who they loved. All in all a disastrous career.
